Statement My work stems from the encounter between two ways of understanding the world: the precision of engineering and the freedom of art. For years I have understood that these two languages are not opposed; on the contrary, they complement each other to reveal new possibilities for creation, transformation, denunciation, and communication. Each work begins with an exploration of matter. Fragments of canvas, paper, pigments, and reclaimed materials cease to be isolated elements and become part of a new composition. In this process, cutting, rearranging, and reconstructing do not represent a gesture of rupture, but rather the possibility of giving new life to that which seemed to have completed its cycle. Transformation is not merely a plastic resource; it is a way of understanding the human experience and our constant capacity for reconstruction. In series like Fragmentation and Reconstruction, the creative process is just as important as the finished work. Each composition begins as a painting, is then deconstructed, and finally reconstructed using oil, acrylic, and mixed media. This process transforms apparent destruction into an act of creation, where change ceases to be seen as loss and becomes an opportunity. My work is, in essence, a permanent investigation into memory, transformation, and the ability of art to reconstruct what seemed fragmented, reminding us that even the vestiges of the past contain the potential for a new beginning.

Alba Piedad Quevedo - Colombian visual artist - Industrial engineer. Alba Quevedo (Colombia) is a visual artist whose pictorial and mixed media research focuses on the processes of fragmentation and reconstruction. Initially trained in industrial engineering, Quevedo Martín redirected her professional career towards the arts in 2005, integrating into her artistic practice a working methodology that combines technical rigor, planning, and material experimentation. Alba Piedad is an engineer by training and a visual artist by vocation, a combination that has profoundly marked her career and her way of understanding and developing art. His training in industrial engineering has given him a structured and analytical perspective which, integrated with his artistic sensibility, has allowed him to build a creative project in which art, technique and technology converge. Since 2008, she has worked in Bogotá as a visual artist and workshop director, a space where she combines teaching, experimentation, and artistic creation. Her pedagogical work is geared towards children and adults, promoting individual expression through painting and mixed media, using structured training processes and a curriculum that integrates technical knowledge, exploration, and creative freedom. Between 2016 and 2017, she served as director of a children's painting workshop at the El Nogal Club, developing painting and mixed media courses aimed at early childhood. In parallel, she has developed projects related to the design and creation of objects, including HAYARI, an initiative dedicated to the design and marketing of accessories and art pieces. Since July 2005, she has also created commissioned artworks, consolidating an artistic practice that remains active and constantly evolving. His career is characterized by a search for connections between different disciplines and by a conception of art as a space for experimentation, learning, and transformation. In his practice, the precision of engineering engages with the intuition and sensitivity inherent in artistic creation, resulting in an interdisciplinary approach where art and technology meet as tools for exploring new forms of expression.
