Alba Piedad is an engineer by training and a visual artist by vocation, a combination that has profoundly marked her career and her way of understanding and developing art.
His training in industrial engineering has given him a structured and analytical perspective which, integrated with his artistic sensibility, has allowed him to build a creative project in which art, technique and technology converge.
Since 2008, she has worked in Bogotá as a visual artist and workshop director, a space where she combines teaching, experimentation, and artistic creation. Her pedagogical work is geared towards children and adults, promoting individual expression through painting and mixed media, using structured training processes and a curriculum that integrates technical knowledge, exploration, and creative freedom.
Between 2016 and 2017, she served as director of a children's painting workshop at the El Nogal Club, developing painting and mixed media courses aimed at early childhood.
In parallel, she has developed projects related to the design and creation of objects, including HAYARI, an initiative dedicated to the design and marketing of accessories and art pieces. Since July 2005, she has also created commissioned artworks, consolidating an artistic practice that remains active and constantly evolving.
His career is characterized by a search for connections between different disciplines and by a conception of art as a space for experimentation, learning, and transformation. In his practice, the precision of engineering engages with the intuition and sensitivity inherent in artistic creation, resulting in an interdisciplinary approach where art and technology meet as tools for exploring new forms of expression.
